You may think that solving crosswords is difficult but have you ever tried making one up for yourself? Find any blank crossword (from a newspaper or magazine, or draw your own at random) and see if you can fill in all the squares with proper words, taking no notice of the existing clues. It's no laughing matter!

A more entertaining way of playing with crosswords is to give each passenger a piece of paper divided up into thirty-six squares six down and six across. Then each player in turn calls out a letter. They all have to write this letter somewhere among the squares. The object is to try and make up words.

Once every square is filled, the players declare how many words they have managed to make. One point is awarded for each letter of a completed word. The player with the longest word gets a bonus of three points. The winner is the one with the highest tally.
